I read this book in daily rotation with some actual sight reading books and I found that reading these 'actual pieces' (rather than exercises) increased my excitement to practice and reinforced what I learned in my sight reading exercise books. I used this book for sight reading and really enjoyed the level of difficulty (I've been practicing sight reading for about a year at this point, so I am a bit if a novice).
